Indoor tennis court: Energy-saving daylight harvesting in a tennis court in Böblingen, Germany
A newly constructed indoor tennis court was designet to offer a lot of daylight. However, a constant manual on and off switching depending on the ambient lighting conditions was out of the question. In order to ensure correct lighting conditions, (i.e. to always have exactly the right mixture of ambient light and artificial light) and for optimal energy savings EPV light sensors of the LS3 type were installed and are controlling dimmable fluorescent light fittings. Compared to the previous tennis courte the energy savings are more than 50% and this tennis court is believed to be the most energy efficient one in Germany.
