Individual offices are one of the prime areas for energy saving lighting controls. Many individual offices are used irregularly. The occupants leave the room, the lights stay on.
This is where occupancy motion sensors come into play. Depending on the level of available daylight and depending on whether the lighting is dimmable or not, several different solutions are possible:
- Simple on / off switching
- On / off switching with a lightlevel threshhold
- On / off switching plus daylight harvesting / daylight dimming
Apart from the obvious energy savings, occupancy motion sensors will improve the comfort level in office environments.
